Trapped: The game of quick
capture
(a FREE game to print and play)
Like Tic-Tac-Toe,
TRAPPED is a quick-to-play strategy
game for 2-players, ages 8 and
up. Your goal is to TRAP one of
your opponent’s pieces between
two of yours. Play is reminiscent
of tic-tac-toe because
it is quick to play and checkers because it is quick
to learn.
BEWARE: Play it
once, and you’ll fall into
the TRAP and want to play over
and over again!

Read the brief,
but interesting story behind the
invention of Trapped:
Trapped is based
on an ancient African game called
Seega that Anthropologists established
was played until 1900. I recreated
it and played it a couple times
with my husband. The concept was
interesting, but the play was
slow. To pickup the pace, I added
some variations, twists, and turns,
and played the new version with
my nephew, Tyler. It was still
too tedious so I asked my nephew
for suggestions on how to make
it a better game. One idea he
had was to use fewer pieces.
I went back to
the drawing board (2, 3 or probably
12 times!) and Trapped was born.
It’s quick to play, easy
to learn, intriguing, challenging,
competitive, and most of all,
addictive! I have intentionally
kept the board and playing pieces
simple to allow for licensing
options.
I have also invented
a game called Beyond Trapped:
The Mission. It takes Trapped
one-step further with MISSION
CARDS. Your MISSION is to replicate
the pattern on your MISSION CARD
with your pieces while keeping
your opponent at bay. Pieces move
in all directions, but when one
of your pieces is TRAPPED it goes
back to your HomeBase and you
have to start over! “MISSION
ACCOMPLISHED” is definitely
more easily said than done!
